Private Villa Escapes Tangala Evi, Kayaköy, near Fethiye & Ölü Deniz, The Gulf of Göcek & Fethiye
Tangala Evi is a beautiful renovation of a very old village house, and the creation of the lovely Gönül and her equally husband, Ahmet. They are passionate about Turkey’s heritage and in particular that of Kayaköy and the Kaya valley. Their dream has been to discover the valley’s unearthed jewels and to restore these old ruins with complete empathy for their original heritage.
Their tasteful renovations simply ooze character (see also Mehmet Ağa Evi and Bodoska Evi).
Tangala Evi is over 200 years old and the tasteful renovation has resulted in a comfortable and spacious one-bedroom house that simply oozes character. The thick original walls ensure that all the rooms remain cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The house is on the
perimeter of a cluster of village houses and ruins set on a rocky outcrop.
Your welcoming village neighbours will happily deliver fresh eggs every day if you desire – we guarantee you’ll never want a supermarket egg again!
The villa enjoys a peaceful location with fabulous uninterrupted views across the valley to the mountain-side in front and the ‘ghost village’ of Kayaköy in the distance.
The setting alone is reason enough not to venture far, however, the unspoilt Gemiler beach is just a 40-minute walk or 10-minute drive away and the hidden delights of the Fethiye peninsula together with
the more cosmopolitan attractions of the renowned beach at Ölü Deniz await your exploration.
A highly recommended rural escape.
