Complimentary Trekking & Kayaking

COMPLIMENTARY TREKKING
Monday, Wednesday and Friday (not Wednesday in July & August))

Guests are escorted on fabulous treks thrice weekly in May, June, September and October and twice weekly in the hotter July and August. Sometimes these follow The Lycian Way and often even more remote trails.

The treks are usually suitable for all fitness levels, unless that day’s party are keen for something more challenging in which case ‘hard’ treks are willingly provided – as long as you are happy to sign the disclaimer!

Private trekking for any level can be arranged on other days of the week and paid for locally.

The treks depart each morning, sometimes directly from the property, sometimes following a short jeep ride. The morning’s trek is usually two to three hours, followed by lunch (paid locally) and swimming in some remote spot.

On some of the routes, guests can then elect to hire a fishing boat (if the sea is calm) or tractor for the return journey or continue the trek by walking back to Beyaz Yunus Faralya.

Yalcin escorts one trek each week with the others escorted by a local guide who has a smattering of English and huge knowledge of the region.

COMPLIMENTARY SEA KAYAKING

Beyaz Yunus Faralya has two kayaks, for the use of guests with kayak experience, on a complimentary basis. Please inform us prior to your departure if you wish to utilise any of these vessels. Following your arrival, Yalçin will then confirm their availability through the week dependent on the requirements of your fellow guests.

One-seater Professional Kayak
We have received expert advice that stresses that guests who are not trained kayakers should never use a sea kayak without a guide. The kayak can easily roll and the user should be in complete control of the vessel at all times. Any guest wishing to use this kayak will be asked to sign an indemnity form.

Two-seater Hard Shell Canoe
The ideal half-way house, suited to beginners who are fit, but have no previous experience. This canoe is more streamlined than the inflatable canoes but less buoyant, therefore harder work.

Safety & Pick Ups
All guests are provided with a high-quality life jacket which must be worn. Each canoe has a ‘walkie-talkie’ to call for assistance. In the event of an emergency Beyaz Yunus Faralya has an agreement with the nearby Lykia Holiday Village will provide full Rescue Boat cover, if necessary. This same boat will collect guests who feel unable to return under their own steam. However, as its main purpose is as a safety vessel we would kindly ask that you try to avoid requesting this service if at all possible.

Kindly note that sea conditions can often be rough and not always conducive to kayaking. In this case the complimentary service has no monetary value.
