Exclusive Boutique Hotels Dionysos, Kumlubük near Turunç Bay, The Bozburun Peninsula
The Dionysos occupies a unique location. As you sit high on the canyon-top overlooking Kumlubük Bay, you truly feel as if you are part of the landscape.
Dramatic views, superb service and unparalleled facilities (including wonderful spa, fine restaurants and private beach club) make staying at Dionysos an experience to savour.
We are delighted to present the region’s smartest address, providing a distinct, personal and very special service to a small number of guests.
This extraordinary and stunning canyon-top property is without parallel in Turkey - indeed it is difficult to think of anywhere in the Mediterranean that is quite like Dionysos.
Positioned high in the mountains overlooking the bay of Kumlubük and it's own Private Beach Club, the property offers sweeping and dramatic views and the distinct impression that the whole mountain is your private domain.
The aim of the owners, Ahmet and Rim, was to create a unique environment, completely removed from the orthodox tourist experience - where service comes first and guests can relax in a truly stunning setting. They have most certainly achieved this with the result that Dionysos has been featured three times on a major television holiday programme and in several broadsheet articles including the Times, Sunday Times and Observer.
The hotel is constantly refubished with the aim of ensuring that Dionysos continues to justify its well deserved reputation as one of Turkey's premier boutique hotels.
Welcome to Dionysos
This beautiful hotel is designed in a village style and is spread across the mountainside. Its extensive wild gardens and surrounding forest complete the feeling of seclusion, whilst the views from the extraordinary infinity swimming pool down the canyon to the sea are quite breathtaking, as is the ambience created by the canyon-top hot tubs.
The region is a walker’s paradise and paths lead through the forest (in which rarely-found incense trees can be discovered) to the mountain top above - where Dionysos has its own organic farm that produces various fruits and vegetables for the hotel which interested guests are welcome to visit - and the ruins and beaches at Amos and Kumlubük below.
The mountain top is also the location of the newly planted vineyards and Olive groves. Dionysos produces its own delicious olive oil ‘Amos’ which is pressed form olives gathered here.
The infinity pool with its astonishing setting is the focal point of Dionysos. The pool is overlooked by the al fresco restaurant and pool bar. This provides an elegant yet quirky setting for the evening.
For the more active, Dionysos has a tennis court and gym, whilst for those seeking instant relaxation, the Spa is an ideal first stop. With treatments inclusing specialist massages and facials, the Spa is sure to keep you in a relaxed mood throughout your stay.
The library, DVD and billiards room all offer a diversion but many guests will feel content simply to wander amongst the hidden groves, picking their own fruit and vegetables from the organic garden, relaxing in the hammocks spread around the grounds, luxuriating in the two romantic hot springs hidden in the gardens or simply admiring the views, for which no superlative is really sufficient.
Ahmet and Rim are part of the fabric of Dionysos, to use their words ‘sharing a lifestyle – not a hotel’.
A relaxed and understated elegance is an apt description of the ambience at Dionysos. They are very aware of the special natural beauty of their canyon-top surroundings and are keen to create an environment that enhances rather than detracts from it.
The ‘Honesty Policy’ that runs at the Market and occasionally at the Pool Bar is a refreshing example of the Dionysos philosophy. The Market is run on a trust basis where you are welcome to help yourself and leave a note to be put on your account. If you prefer not to carry your shopping up to your room then simply leave it at reception to be delivered.
For those seeking peace, tranquillity and contentment, we cannot recommend Dionysos highly enough. Dionysos is a labour of love, and once experienced, it will never be forgotten.
